Alternation ‘argument addition’ (Uncoded)

a human source is added (search for something from someone), but it is not flagged with a preposition that usually flags sources, such as ó+dat or a+dat, rather by a preposition that codes approached human goals, usually with motion verbs, co+acc 'till, to, as far as'. The same preposition flags the source/addressee with a synonym, íarraid 'to ask, search for something from someone, demand of someone', which however is not attested in early sources. With the non-finite construction (verbal noun), on the other hand, only ó/úa+dat is attested in CorPH for the same microrole
