Alternation ‘quasi benefactive accompaniement mid’ (Uncoded)

Verbs like beran, bringan and niman can add a plain, i.e. non-reflexive preposition co-referential with the subject in a with-phrase. In verbs like sendan, this further argument is co-referential with the patient, i.e. the person being sent somewhere. The implication is that the subject (or object in the case of sendan) could benefit from the presence of the person or thing, e.g. as company, as equipment. (cf. Goddard 2013 in Present Day English)
