With some experiential verbs denoting negative emotions (e.g., REGRET paenitet) that in the basic coding frame are constructed impersonally with an accusative experiencer and a genitive stimulus, the stimulus is promoted to subject position (i.e., it takes the nominative case). Such construction has a causative meaning.
